Auditions
Auditions are usually held twice a year to coincide with our April and October shows. Exact dates and times are advertised on our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram social media pages nearer the time.
If you would like to audition for Centre Stage, you will need to be in Year 7 or above and under the age of 21.
Auditions either take place in the form of an open event where you come along with your own choice of prepared musical theatre song to sing in front of our Musical Director and be taught a short dance by our Artistic Director or in the form of a workshop with some of our company members where we teach you a song and dance to perform. You may also be asked to speak about yourself.
Look out for our audition announcements for details of which we are running. Please take a look at Facebook or Instagram when you apply to find out which session we are running.
We are not looking for perfection, we are looking for confidence and potential ability.
Auditions take place in front of the Centre Stage committee and some of our company members. Members of the committee are DBS checked and first-aid trained.
Successful auditionees will be contacted by telephone or email within 24 hours.
Feedback on auditions can be requested by emailing louisel@centrestageexmouth.onmicrosoft.com.

What to Bring
If we have asked you to perform a prepared musical theatre song, you will need to bring a (non-vocal) backing track with you on a device with Bluetooth.
You will not need anything for workshop auditions.
Centre Stage Commitment
Besides our Spring and Autumn shows, we are often invited to perform by the local community. Rehearsals take place 3 times a week, usually Tuesday and Friday evenings plus Sunday afternoon. There can be slightly more rehearsals in the run up to a major show.
We do expect that all members show a full commitment to Centre Stage by taking part in all events.
Membership Fees
Fees are £22 per month (by standing order) with an additional one-off joining fee of £30.
