Can you help me keep the Arts alive?
Exmouth’s youth musical theatre group, Centre Stage, is appealing for donations to help keep the company going through the current crisis. Please help me raise funds for CENTRE STAGE (DEVON) to enable us to pay our bills and keep our theatre company going through this difficult time.
If you can spare anything, we would be very grateful, every donation will help. Thank you in advance for your contribution to a cause that means so much to many young people in Exmouth.
For fifty years, Centre Stage has been delighting Exmouth audiences with award-winning musical performances, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this has had to temporarily stop. Mark Worsley, the Centre Stage President, says “Our talented young performers work exceptionally hard to deliver a great shows.
It would mean so much to our members if the local community could support us with a donation.”
Centre Stage began life in 1971 and has been staging musicals every year since then. The musical performances may have changed, but the aims are the same – to develop young people through the practical involvement in performing arts, to build confidence, self-esteem and maturity and most of all to give a life-enhancing sense of belonging to a company of like-minded people.
Many former members have gone on to study at theatre schools including Bristol Old Vic, Mountview, and Guildford School of Acting with some pursuing successful careers in the West End and national theatres.
Due to COVID-19, Centre Stage’s performance of West Side Story was postponed and we hope to be able to bring it to you next year. Centre Stage is a charity and relies on ticket sales to continue, therefore as with many productions we are feeling the loss.
