With every performance by Exmouth’s Centre Stage youth theatre group, the town’s talented youngsters always ensure their audiences come back for another helping!
True to this tradition, the award-winning theatre company’s upcoming show in April is a production of the world-famous “Oliver!” based on Lionel Bart’s masterful adaptation of the Charles Dickens classic Oliver Twist.
Tickets are now on sale for the show, which will play at Exmouth Pavilion from 9th to 13th April. That’s almost 20 years to the day since the death of Lionel Bart, whose adaptation of the orphan boy’s adventures with a gang of pickpockets has proved a long-standing hit with theatre and cinema audiences all over the world.

Last Sunday saw auditions at Brixington Primary Academy for the main parts in the production – including that of Oliver Twist himself.
After auditioning and giving the roles due consideration, the production team picked two boys, who will share the role of Oliver for the upcoming production.
The choice between these two hopefuls was so close that there will be one more Oliver than usual!
The results of casting for the other key roles – such as the Artful Dodger, Fagin, Nancy and Bill Sikes – will be decided soon.
Once those roles have been filled, rehearsals will begin in earnest.
